My name is Casey DeCarlo, and I’m super excited to help make some great music! I will be directing the Concert Band, Junior Band, and Jazz Ensemble at Queen of Angels this coming fall. I come from a lineage of musicians; my grandfather even played saxophone at Mass at St. David’s for a while! I studied music at West Chester University and I specialize in saxophone and piano. After spending four years participating in bands at LaSalle College High School, I’ve been teaching music ever since; I volunteered at LaSalle’s jazz camp, was an assistant musical director for the theatre program at St. Basil Academy, and guest conducted the Jenkintown Community Band two summers in a row! As for performance, in addition to playing with JCB, I also play in the Ferko String Band.
I grew up in Oreland as an active member of Holy Martyrs’ parish, and my faith has continued to guide me to this day. I believe one of the most important ways God shows Himself to us is through the power of music, and I am overjoyed at the opportunity to share that with the kids at Queen of Angels come Fall!
